AUSTRALIAN & AMERICAN CHAMPION
SUKARI-JASIRI MARY PUPPINS (Imp USA)

(Amer Ch Sukari's Spot the Target CD X Amer Ch Jasiri's Jurassic Bark)
12 Dec 1998 - 20 September, 2009

Mary was my "bed dog", boss of my life and my kennel.
She was her own person, and had a faulty thermostat that meant she didn't "do" temperatures under 25C!!

It was as a Mum that Mary excelled -
producing 3 Grand Champions:

BIS Australian Grand Champion Tamsala Hot Time Tonite
Multi BIS/Multi RUBIS Australian Grand Champion Tamsala Hot Diggity Dawg
(No 1 Basenji in Australia 2007 and 2008)
Australian Grand Champion Tamsala Mitena Magic
a Specialty BIS American Champion Tamsala Hot Onya Heels,
Australian Champion Tamsala Mitena Mystic,
Australian Champion Tamsala So Love Me Lots
and many much loved family pets with the most delightful temperaments.

Mary adored her babies.

Mary was the first Basenji in Australia to be DNA Fanconi Marker tested -
and unfortunately her test revealed that she was "probably Affected"
To prove the point, she started spilling sugar in her urine 4 days after the result came through.
She was 8 years 9 months - and had shown no symptoms until that day.
Mary was started on Dr Gonto's Fanconi Protocol immediately, and she did very well on it.
Her last venous blood gas test on the 16th September showed that her levels were almost normal.
Over a period of 10 days or so, her health failed - with the final result being complete renal failure.
Some dogs kidneys are damaged more severely by Fanconi - Mary was one of those.

You were taken too young, my Babe.
We still had a lot to do together....
