Health Testing
Hips - 3:2 (OFA equivalent Good)
Eyes - Minor Iris to Iris PPM strand both eyes
Normal Urine
FANCONI DNA TESTED PROBABLE AFFECTED.
Normal thyroid levels
Bloodline is HA clear
Although Spot has no symptoms as yet, she is being strip tested for signs of glucose in the urine monthly.
As her only mating was to her kennel mate Duggie (who is "probable Fanconi clear"), her pups from that litter will all be "probable carriers". This means that those pups will NEVER develop Fanconi. However if any are bred from, they should ONLY be put to DNA tested "probable clear", and any resulting pups should be DNA tested also, so that only clears are used for breeding.
Spot will be spayed, and will live out her life with her boyfriend Duggie, (who needs a strong "woman" to manage his life!!!)
Spot is a sweet natured, gentle girl who does a very good job of putting up with her kennel mate Duggie. She was a reluctant show girl, embarrassed about the attention, and worried about the height of the judging table (We don't like heights!). She was very pleased to retire!!!
She also took her time getting into the whelping box (sex was RUDE!), and never had her first litter till 2006. But, she got carried away, having a litter of 7 to her kennel mate Duggie.
Of these 7, TAMSALA NUTTIN TAHIDE has made the long trip to Hawaii, as a much loved family pet, and possible show dog.
TAMSALA SMARTI PANTS is back at home with me, having fun in the showring, after gaining her Aust. Champion title one week after her 1st birthday.
