This is a tribute to a bitch who didn't do any wonderful things in the showring, but who made her mark in the whelping box, and as a loving companion for the last 5 years of her life. Misty decided at a very early age that she was NOT going to be a show dog!! A trip in the car was accompanied by howling, vomitting, and emptying her bowels and bladder in her travel cage. I got the message after trying two or three times to take her in the car! Misty got to stay at home - as she wanted - a pity as she would have got her title easily.
But her forte was in the whelping box. Her first litter of 7, was to Tamsala Gold Plated. From this came her tricolour son Ch. Tamsala Dashing Derek(Sire of Ch Tamsala So Love Me Lots), and American Ch. Tamsala Lucy Locket(Exp USA) (dam of our American import Aust/Amer Ch Jasiri-Sukari HR Pup nStuff(Imp USA).
Her second litter to BIS Ch. Tamsala Silkn Soksi produced Dual Amer. Ch. Tamsala Rocket Socks MC, LCX(Exp USA)(himself a sire of at least 8 Champions in America).
Her third litter , once again to Soksi, producedNordic Ch Tamsala Makes Waves(Exp Sweden),and Tamsala Shes Apples (dam of Multi Specialty winner Ch. Tamsala Lil Green Apples, and Grand Ch. Tamsala Forbidden Fruit).
Her fourth litter (only 4 - a small litter by Misty's standards), sired by BIS Grand Ch. Sudanka Dream Machine, produced Aust/Indonesian Ch. Tamsala Sunnyside Up(Exp Indonesia), Aust Ch. Tamsala Sunworshipper, and Tamsala Sunbronzd Aussie (Exp UK)(Best Exhibit atthe BOBA Basenji Specialty in England).
Misty retired after this litter, to live out her days as the loving companion of Pip and Bill in Melbourne, accompanied by her son Derek. Misty adored Bill, and they were inseparable. Bill died, after a long illness, and Misty was devastated. She dropped down dead in their garden, only a couple of days after Bill passed away. She was only a few days over 13 years old. She obviously needed to be with her Bill.
Misty will always have a place in Tamsala family history, as long as her descendants are around the world.
